Friday... Something!

I am changing the title of the Friday Five because I was always having a hard time coming up with 5 things to share. I'm going to let you guys vote on the few I've come up with! If you have any suggestions, let me know in the comments!


Now, on to the post!

1. I got a job! Yey! After a year of seriously searching, and 4 years of being jobless, I have finally obtained a job! It's only a seasonal job right now, but if I work awesomely enough, then I might be able to be hired as a regular worker. Fingers crossed for me! If I get to keep this job, so many doors will be opened for me!

3. My best friend and I made a video not long ago and I want to share it, cause I think it's fun! We might start doing one monthly. Not sure.

4. I'm looking for some new art for my header up there *points at the current picture* to fit more into the YA theme I'm taking. I know what I want, I just need someone to do it. I don't have any real money right now to pay for it, but if you know someone who would be willing to do some art for me and has a similar style to the art above, please let me know. Credit will of course be posted to my blog so people can find the person. Kinda one of those you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours kind of deals.

Now, I must off to follow the lovely people in my groups for the campaign, make my introduction rounds, and do my homework. And read. Ah, there are not enough hours in the day for the procrastinator.

Quotes about Writing and a change in line up

I found this site via twitter the other day and I wanted to share it with my readers who are also writers. It's called advicetowriters.com and it's basically a collection of quotes about writing. It's pretty cool, and they have daily quotes. If you want to follow their twitter, it's AdviceToWriters and they update a LOT, just so you know. But I thought it was cool and wanted to share.

Also, I'm going to be changing up my Friday Five from just five random tidbits to calling it 'Friday's Five...'. I'll pick a topic that's either writing related or not and list my top five. Like the top five things that scare me, or the top five things I have to have in order to write. Stuff like that. I saw it on a writers blog I'm reading and thought it was interesting, so I'll give it a shot!

What I'd like to know from you guys is: do you have any suggestions for topics for Friday's Five? Anything and everything will be considered and probably accepted! Let's hear those suggestions!

Friday Five! (a day late!)

Ok, so maybe it's only 35 minutes late, but same thing. This'll end up publishing under 'Saturday'.

It's the Friday five. Just five random bits that, well, don't fit in with the theme of the blog, or I just don't feel like making a full blog post for.


1. I want to start a new set of blog postings. Most of what I post is memes and my stuff from writers group on Tuesday. So I want to get something a little more... me on here. So I'm going to start posting something on Wednesdays, leaving it so I post Monday-Friday with the weekends off. I want to call it something catchy, and the title I have picked out... it has possible problems. Now, my question to you lovely readers: Does the title 'The Wednesday Word' sound too religious? Part of me says it sounds fine and is a lovely play on words, fits in with the fact that this is a writing blog, and it also sounds like a news paper, which I think is cute. The other part of me says it sounds like I'm going to be spewing religion at people and that it'll be a turn off to any possible new readers if they just look at the 'Wednesday Word' title and nothing else. (I'm not saying that religion is a bad thing, I just don't believe in shoving one's beliefs on other people).


2. I'm gunna post some cute videos! Cause they're so cute!
This first one is a cute, love video called Love Language. I found it on Tumblr

This second one is an AWESOME homage to American Psycho. Like awesome to the power of awesome. That's how awesome it is.

3. I'm addicted to The Oregon Trail on facebook. I've made it to Oregon all three times I've set out, so now I'm trying to see how many times I make it there before I finally lose. My best friend is addicted to it as well, and she hasn't made it once to Oregon. I must be one lucky wench! ;P


4. Oh! Build-a-Bear has one of the WEIRDEST interview processes EVER. If you have the chance, apply to a Build-a-Bear just to see what the interview is like. It's not like a normal interview where you sit there and answer questions. No. You play games and be loud and you end up answering one question. That's it. It's like one of the coolest interviews I have EVER done.


5. I'm trying to figure out if Who's Line Is It Anyway? is funner with the sound on, or off. I have it on mute right now, and it's funny to see them making all these loud movements, but there's no sound. So it's funny. Any opinions?

Friday Five!

It's the Friday five. Just five random bits that, well, don't fit in with the theme of the blog, or I just don't feel like making a full blog post for.

1. I got new pens! I use purple Pentel EnerGel pens, which are expensive in the store (2 for 6 bucks). I had lost one and the other one sadly died, so I threw it away. I then found out that I can get refills for the pen for cheaper than the pen, but I needed a pen shell to put the refill in to. So I bought new ones. I love these pens :) They write so nicely and the purple is a bright purple, not a so-dark-it's-almost-black type purple.


2. I won a book in a contest held by Down the Rabbit Hole! Yey! It's called Where She Went by Gayle Forman. It's part two to If I Stay, which I haven't actually read. But that's fine! Gives me the reason to buy it!  I'll have more about it when I get it in the mail :)


3. I am now, officially, minoring in Creative Writing at my college! For those who don't know, I am majoring in Professional Writing.


4. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I'd say what for but I'm afraid of jinxing it by telling too many people. I'll update about that after the 2nd, but keep your fingers crossed anyhow!


5. I don't have very many interesting things to write for this. How lame of me :P

Don't worry, as soon as you change pages, it goes away, so it wont stay that way for ever. But it's so cute!


2. My roommate got a laptop today, so there should be more writing done. Yey! Her last laptop randomly died, so she had to get a new one. She finally has. NaNo will be better this year! We write together, and her not having a computer messes with the flow of things.


3. My dog is going to be getting his balls chopped off. Know what that means? CONE OF SHAME! I'll post a picture of him if he ends up in one.

4. It's raining. Rain makes me SO happy! I love when it rains. It doesn't rain out here in SoCal very often, so when it does, I become a happy Jesi. :D


5. I've seen(am going to have seen) two movies this week. The Roommate was pleasantly creepy. The roommate chick freaked me out and I am glad I don't actually go to campus for my schooling. I never want a roommate who isn't someone I know personally. *shivers* Second movie is Unknown with Liam Neeson. I LOVE Liam Neeson. He's so smexy, and his voice is so delicious. Like Patrick Stump, who I -if I could- would marry his voice, both singing and speaking *swoons*
