Book Tunes (3)

Book Tunes is a new meme that will be held on Fridays and the point is to share the book your reading and a song you think represents it. Be sure to include the novel you are reading, the summary, the song you think fits it and an explanation of why you chose that particular song.
Summary: I’m not your average hero. I actually wasn’t your average anything. Just a poor guy working an after-school job at a South Beach shoe repair shop to help his mom make ends meet. But a little magic changed it all.

It all started with the curse. And the frognapping. And one hot-looking princess, who asked me to lead a rescue mission.

There wasn’t a fairy godmother or any of that. And even though I fell in love along the way, what happened to me is unlike any fairy tale I’ve ever heard. Before I knew it, I was spying with a flock of enchanted swans, talking (yes, talking!) to a fox named Todd, and nearly trampled by giants in the Everglades.

Don’t believe me? I didn’t believe it either. But you’ll see. Because I knew it all was true, the  second I got CLOAKED.

Music:  Home's Never Too Far away by Fellowship!
Lyrics:
So... I can't find the lyrics and since this song is from a musical play (a parody of Fellowship of the Ring), it's kinda understandable. Sorry :/

Reason:
Johnny, the main character, has to go on a quest to find the princesses brother, who's been turned into a frog. While Johnny doesn't take any friends with him, this is the only song I could find that worked with the whole quest bit. I'd give more of a reason, but I don't want to spoil the book!

Book Tunes (2)

Book Tunes is a new meme that will be held on Fridays and the point is to share the book your reading and a song you think represents it. Be sure to include the novel you are reading, the summary, the song you think fits it and an explanation of why you chose that particular song.
Summary: Ethan Wate is haunted by dreams of a girl he’s never met. When Lena Duchannes moves into his small southern town of Gatlin County, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her. And he is determined to uncover the strange connection between them, even if it means uncovering the one secret that could change everything.

Music: I Knew I Loved You by Savage Garden

Lyrics:
Maybe it's intuition
But some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes
I see my future in an instant
And there it goes
I think I've found my best friend
I know that it might sound more than a little crazy
But I believe

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life

There's just no rhyme or reason
Only this sense of completion
And in your eyes
I see the missing pieces
I'm searching for
I think I've found my way home

I know that it might sound more than a little crazy
But I believe

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
(add the whos here)

A thousand angels dance around you
(and the whos here)
I am complete now that I've found you
(and the whos here)

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
(and the whos here)

Repeat chorus 3x with chorus

Reason: I'm not that far into the book yet, so this is all based on the 20 pages I've read. So far, it's just Ethan dreaming about this girl and how he's basically falling in love with this girl he doesn't know. I think it's pretty apt. Now if only this song were more... morbid, it would fit perfectly!

SummaryLucinda is sure that she and Daniel are meant to be together forever. Now they are forced apart in a desperate bid to save Luce from the Outcasts–immortals who want her dead. As she discovers more about her past lives, Luce starts to suspect that Daniel is hiding something. What if he has lied to her about their shared past? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?

Music!: Tonight's the Night by Ludo

Lyrics:
Oh baby, baby, how I lost my mind
Time is quite the killer when you're left behind
The airbag held you 'til the engine slept
At home your pillow cooled while the willows wept

They come and go, love (Come and go, but they, but they)
But they're all the same (d-da, d-da, da da, da da)
even big bad bad boys get scared at night
it keeps them safe (at home baby)
I'm gonna throw this rock down (gonna throw it down, let it roll)
Tonight's the night (tonight)
I'm gonna go out, fire it up, honey (I'm gonna lose'em when I)
Gonna turn back time

Remember in the summer when I held your hand
on the southern shore, finding fossils in the sand
Oh, baby maybe someday you will find me
on that beach beside you again

They come and go, love (Come and go, but they, but they)
But they're all the same (d-da, d-da, da da, da da)
even big bad bad boys get scared at night
it keeps them safe (at home baby)
I'm gonna throw this rock down (gonna throw it down, let it roll)
Tonight's the night (tonight)
I'm gonna go out, fire it up, honey (I'm gonna lose'em when I)
Gonna turn back time

Here we go!

I'm gonna save your life

Reason:
This song just fits. This book really deals with all of Luce's past lives and how she wants to know what goes on in them. This song, though it's actually about a guy who wants to save his dead wife, talks about going back in time. Luce really puts her foot down on the whole subject of what her and Daniel have gone through for thousands of years. I think the song kind of explains itself.
